Accessibility

The website provides its statements, briefings and source annotations as readable web text. Headings, descriptive links, keyboard controls and responsive layouts support access across different screens and reading methods.

Navigation and keyboard use

A “Skip to main content” link is available at the beginning of each page. The main menu provides the principal collections, while breadcrumbs identify a page’s place within them. Longer pages have a linked contents list. The Site Directory groups the full collection in one place.

Menu controls can be operated by keyboard. Their expanded state is identified, and Escape closes an open menu. Visible focus identifies the active link or control. Search and the library and publication filters offer additional routes to material.

Reading and enlargement

Text remains selectable and can be enlarged with the browser’s controls. The layout adapts to narrow screens; wide reference tables scroll within their own region. Headings preserve the structure of a longer text, and decorative symbols remain separate from its meaning.

Briefings and statements include print and copy-link controls. The print layout removes navigation and decoration while retaining the text, headings and links. Essential information is provided in text rather than confined to an image.

Files and external documents

The League’s original publications are available directly as HTML. Identity downloads state their format and file size. Source records introduce an external work before linking to its publisher. External documents may use different formats and accessibility arrangements.

If a file or external reference creates a difficulty, identify the document and the form of access needed. An alternative can be considered within the material and rights available to the League.

Report a problem

Contact info@ycle.org with the page or document, the difficulty and the result you were trying to obtain. Device, browser or assistive-technology details can help where relevant.

WCAG 2.2 AA guides the website’s design and evaluation. This is a design target rather than a claim of independent certification. Reports about access inform further technical and editorial corrections.
