International Relations

The League’s international work connects its European remit with socialist political thought, contemporary Chinese development and the study of international affairs. Institutional correspondence provides a direct route for publication exchange, research enquiries and invitations relevant to these subjects.

The principal address is international@ycle.org. Organisational identity details and the headquarters address are available in Public Information.

Fields of exchange

The League’s public subjects provide the basis for international correspondence. They include Marxist theory and contemporary socialism; economic planning and development; public services and social protection; ecology, energy and science; and Europe’s relations with China and the wider international system.

These subjects connect theoretical discussion with the experiences and institutions of different societies. An exchange can concern a particular publication, a comparative question, a source document or the proposed discussion of a defined topic.

The China and Europe collections show the scope in detail. The League’s statements provide its own political framework.

Publications and documentary enquiries

Publishers, researchers and institutional correspondents can write about the League’s briefings, annotations and source references. A publication enquiry can identify the work concerned, the intended subject of discussion and any relevant bibliographic or translation details.

The Reference Library provides direct routes to original issuers. Questions about a YCLE annotation or the argument of a briefing belong to the League’s editorial channel; requests concerning an original external publication can also involve its publisher.

For editorial correspondence, use editorial@ycle.org. International correspondence involving an institution or proposed exchange can remain with the international address.

Invitations and proposed arrangements

An invitation identifies the convening institution, the subject, the proposed format and the place or online arrangements. Dates, the time zone, the intended contribution and any response deadline provide the practical information needed to consider it.

The same approach applies to a proposed publication exchange or discussion. Clear identification of the participants and purpose allows the League to relate the proposal to its remit and the appropriate organisational responsibility.

An initial enquiry can include a public programme or document link. Arrangements that require formal representation are handled within the League’s governing framework described in Governance and Accountability.
